ART WORKSHOPS WITH YOUNG PEOPLE
From March 2010 to March 2011 I have been working with the Pembrokeshire Youth Offending Team to engage over 40 young people in a wide range of arts workshops including graffiti art, painting, sculpture, ceramics and screen printing.
Many of the young people involved in the project were either within the youth justice system or at risk of becoming so and of becoming NEET, (not in education, employment or training). The project has been a very positive way of engaging young people in creative activities where they learn new skills, improving their confidence and self esteem and giving them a sense of pride in improving their environment.
The project was funded by the European Social Fund through the European Union's 2007-2013 Convergence programme for West Wales and the Valleys, the Welsh Assembly Government and the Arts Council of Wales.
